We are a 501c(3) nonprofit organization based in Hebron, CT. We are passionate about helping those in need of in-home comfort and care by providing quality low cost used hospital beds and related equipment.

We use the best methods of cleaning, disinfecting and distributing the equipment to keep our customers and workers safe.

Who Our Beds Help

Hospital beds are most beneficial for people who:

  • Are recovering from surgery
  • Have breathing difficulty when lying flat
  • Have trouble getting in or out of a standard bed

How Our Beds Help

  • Increased circulation with ability to adjust pressure points on body 
  • Beds can be raised or lowered to desired comfort for sleep, watching TV, eating and reading
  • Wheels allow bed to be positioned and moved around the house or locked into place

Don Hoerman

President of The Hospital Bed Project

Don has 20 plus years of experience in various types of assistive technology from powered mobility to complex environmental controls and access equipment. His drive and desire to help people makes him perfect to lead this organization.

When you ask Don for help, you can rest assured that he will give you his undivided attention and do his best to come up with a solution that works for you.

Morgan Leonard

Board Chairman

Morgan is the President of E.W. Leonard, Inc, a manufacturer’s representative agency serving the plumbing and heating industry. In this position he defines the direction and strategy of the company as well as maintains communication with the manufacturers the company represents. Throughout his career, Morgan has been active in many professional and trade associations.

Outside of his work, he has spent time working on various boards, both private and public. He also served his church as Deacon, Sunday schoolteacher, Board of Trustees, and as chairman of the real estate committee.

Trish Leonard

Board Member

Trish is the Financial Manager of E.W. Leonard, Inc. She holds an MBA in Finance and has experience with computer systems, strategic planning and investment management.

Outside of work, Trish was a volunteer with the Connecticut State 4-H horse advisory committee for many years and worked as a Sunday school teacher and on the children’s education committee at her church.  

Trish’s desire to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for The Hospital Bed Project comes from her belief in Don’s honesty, hard-work and commitment to helping others.
